Whether it's your first go at litter picking, or you're an expert beach cleaner, join us for our monthly beach clean of Portobello beach and Prom! Let's get Porty looking braw for summer.

Volunteers will help litter pick the beach and to clear sand and weeds from the Prom.

We will meet at the KPT kit shed, behind the Oscar's Gelato van on the Prom at 12.30pm for a short briefing. We will gather again at 1.30pm to finish up for 1.45pm.

All kit will be provided (bags, litter pickers, bag hoops, wheelbarrow, shovel and hoes) but if you have your own, please bring these with you. Some spare gloves will be available.

Please make sure to bring water, warm clothing and suncream as needed!

Volunteers will receive a voucher for a free tea/coffee from Oscar's Gelato on the Prom thanks to our fantastic local partners the Oscar's Group.

Please RSVP to this event if you plan to come along and email kpt@porty.org.uk if you have any questions or accessibility needs.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
